"Ancient" Web Pages of Rob/Bert Neff
I didn't keep close records at the time, but based on an
old e-mail I kept, I created my first web page in Nov. 1995.
I have had a home page in continuous existance since then, but have changed ISPs several
times, primarily because of physical moves to different states. Since June 2000 I have
had my web page on a web-based server independent of ISPs, so I intend to keep this site
for some time to come.
Since I was using Lynx to browse the web from home at the time (Lynx is a text-based
browser that could be used on a shell account (accessed thru telnet, hyperterminal or
Microphone LT in my case)) this had no pictures at all.
I kept this completely original, so don't try to follow the links, and use the 'back'
feature to return to this page. There's a reference to another page of links, but that's
been lost. Undoubtedly I had a link to the Juggling Information Services (JIS) there,
among others (this is how lynx handled bookmarks - you added them into a page of links,
then there was a hot-key to this page). Okay, here it is, my
"Ancient Web Page" .
The next major advancement was the addition of graphics. It took the better part of a year
before I got to that step. Here's my
first picture and a description of how I loaded it in.
(This time I updated the back link).
